Google Voice Virtual Number for SMS Verification
Google Voice verification with a virtual number is often unsuccessful, because Google Voice asks you to link an existing phone and is known to reject many numbers that are not from regular carriers. SmsBuyz can rent a number for one activation, and if Google Voice refuses it or no code arrives while the order is pending, you can cancel for a refund to your balance.

About Google Voice phone verification
Google Voice is a calling, texting and voicemail service from Google. For personal accounts it is generally offered in the United States, while Google Workspace customers can use it in additional countries under business plans. When you choose a Google Voice number, Google typically asks you to link an existing phone number and confirms it with an SMS code. The linked number is used for call forwarding and account checks, and Google may reclaim a Voice number that stays inactive for a long period. Availability and requirements are set by Google and can change.
Why use a separate number for Google Voice?
- Setting up a Google Voice line for a small business or side project where you are eligible for the service.
- Keeping your main mobile number private while testing a Voice setup you manage.
- Separating work calls and texts from your personal line when you meet Google Voice eligibility rules.
How to get a Google Voice verification code
- Top up your SmsBuyz balance (crypto; the first deposit gets a 20% bonus).
- Select Google Voice in the service panel.
- Choose a country with numbers in stock and check the final price.
- Buy the number and enter it in Google Voice exactly as the app asks for it.
- Copy the code from your order page. If nothing arrives while the order is pending, cancel it to get the amount back.
Google Voice tips before you order
- Check Google Voice availability and terms for your location and account type before buying; the service is not offered everywhere.
- Expect Google Voice to be stricter than many other platforms; if the linking step is refused, cancel the pending order promptly rather than trying several times.
- Remember that the linked number may be needed again for forwarding or checks, so a one-time rental is poorly suited to a Voice line you depend on.
- Make a call or send a text from your Voice number periodically if you keep it, since Google may reclaim inactive numbers.
- Do not use Google Voice numbers created this way for bulk messaging or to open other accounts at scale.
Google Voice virtual number FAQ
Will Google Voice accept a virtual number for linking?
Often it will not, because Google Voice commonly refuses non-carrier numbers. If it is refused before a code arrives, cancel for a refund.
Can I use Google Voice outside the United States?
Personal Google Voice is generally limited to the United States, with broader availability through Google Workspace. Check Google's current terms.
What happens if I lose the linked number?
You may be unable to complete later checks or forwarding tied to it. For a line you rely on, link a phone you will keep.
Is the code delivered by voice call?
SmsBuyz numbers show SMS messages only, so choose the text-message option when linking.
Is linking Google Voice the same as verifying Gmail?
No, creating a Google Account and linking a phone to Google Voice are separate steps. Each may ask for its own SMS code, and each would need its own activation.
How much does a Google Voice verification number cost?
The catalogue price for Google Voice starts at $1.0294 per activation. The final price depends on the country and route you pick and is shown before you pay.
What happens if the Google Voice code never arrives?
An order waits up to 20 minutes for the SMS. While it is still pending you can cancel it and the amount returns to your SmsBuyz balance; pending orders that expire are refunded automatically.
