Google doesn't ask for a phone number every time. But when it does — new Gmail account, YouTube channel setup, AdSense application, account recovery after a password reset — you're stuck without one. And Google is picky. Very picky.

The Gmail signup flow

Head to SmsBuyz, select Google Gmail, buy a number. I recommend US or UK routes for Google — their fraud detection weights country heavily. Start the Gmail wizard in an incognito window (clean cookies help).

When Google asks for a phone, enter the virtual number. SMS arrives in SmsBuyz — usually the order window shown in the panel. Enter the code. Skip adding a recovery phone if you can; use an app-based 2FA instead.

Google sometimes skips phone verification entirely based on IP reputation and browser fingerprint. If you don't get prompted, don't force it. But have the number ready.

Why Google blocks so many virtual numbers

Google maintains one of the most aggressive VoIP blacklists in the industry. They cross-reference number ranges against carrier databases. Free Google Voice numbers verifying a new Google account? Ironic, and also blocked.

Availability, acceptance and delivery time vary by service, country, operator and platform policy. Use the service only for lawful, authorized activity and review the live route details before ordering.

Troubleshooting

"This phone number has been used too many times." Route exhausted. Different country.

"We couldn't verify your account." IP issue. Try a residential VPN or different network.
